British electric car subscription service Onto has expanded its fleet yet again, this time with the addition of 300 Audi e-tron. Onto already has a four-digit number of electric cars from various manufacturers - but so far none from the VW Group.
Specifically, Audi UK says it will be the e-tron 55 in the "Black Edition". In the Onto subscription, the vehicle will be available from £1,299 (€1,517), a price that includes insurance, service, all charging costs and 1,000 free miles (1,609 kilometres).
Audi UK director Andrew Doyle says Onto's order for 300 e-trons is the largest ever for the e-SUV in the UK, and he warmly welcomes the fact that the premium vehicles will be offered on a subscription basis in future. "This acutely convenience-focused service has real potential to be a key driver of attitudinal change and wider integration of greener mobility," says Doyle, adding that Onto's commitment is valuable in "breaking down as many perceived barriers to electric vehicle ownership and use as possible".
Previously, Onto had already ordered 1,100 Renault Zoe, 300 each Peugeot e-208 and DS 3 Crossback E-Tense from PSA, as well as 150 Kona Electric and 125 Ioniq Electric from Hyundai. In addition, the subscription provider, which operates exclusively in the U.K., also has the classic Nissan Leaf and BMW i3, as well as the Tesla Model 3 and Jaguar I-Pace on offer.automobilsport.com, on.to
