McLaren Racing has secured an option to participate in Formula E once the 3rd generation race cars debut for the 9th season of the electric racing series. The option will allow McLaren to enter the championship as one of a maximum of 12 teams from the 2022/23 season.
British sports car manufacturer McLaren has unveiled its first production model with plug-in hybrid drive. The Artura super sports car combines - for the first time at McLaren - a six-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor. The McLaren Artura is already available to order - at prices starting at 226,000 euros.
Last weekend, Formula E made another guest appearance in Berlin. While Venturi driver Edoardo Mortara won Saturday's race, Mercedes driver Nyck de Vries was victorious on Sunday. Formula E will also be racing in Berlin in the next two years.
Following McLaren Racing's recent announcement of its entry into Formula E for the upcoming season, McLaren Racing has now entered into a long-term partnership with Nissan, which will see Nissan supply the e-drives for the entire Gen3 era of Formula E to the British team.
