Sweden: Bee and Alfen agree supply deal

Swedish charging station operator Bee Charging Solutions has appointed Alfen as its new supplier of smart charging stations, with both companies signing a framework agreement for an initial period of three years.

The partnership focuses primarily on providing charging solutions for real estate and businesses, but can also include home as well as public charging stations, according to Alfen. The Dutch provider has charging stations of all types in its portfolio, and can network them together and add active load management solutions. "This enhanced functionality allows Bee's customers to connect up to 100 charging stations to a single installation and distribute the available power to all charged vehicles," according to an accompanying press release.

Bee is owned by three energy companies in Sweden: Öresundskraft, Jämtkraft and Tekniska Verken in Linköping. "We are looking forward to partnering with Alfen as our new EV charging partner. The market is growing fast and requires ever smarter solutions, and we believe we have found a partner in Alfen that can provide us with the right smart, fast and safe charging solutions - not only today, but also in the future," expresses Fredrik Nordin, Managing Director of Bee Charging Solutions.

As far as the German market is concerned, Alfen has just announced that it will introduce Giro-e at all of its charging stations (public and semi-public) that comply with calibration laws. Using Giro-e, users can pay for a charging session directly with their debit card. Existing Alfen equipment can also be retrofitted.alfen.com
