Polestar has launched sales of the Polestar 2 in Austria, where it is available in Long Range Dual Motor and Long Range Single Motor variants. Polestar also recently opened a Polestar Space in Vienna.
This means that Polestar will only be offering the two versions with the large battery in Austria at the start, which has an energy content of 78 kWh, of which 75 kWh can be used. The single-motor variant with a small battery (64 kWh), which is now available in Germany, is not currently offered in Austria.
Both the technical data and the equipment correspond to the familiar variants from Germany: the all-wheel drive model produces 300 kW and offers a maximum torque of 660 Nm. The WLTP range is 455-482 kilometres. The Long Range Single engine produces 170 kW and, according to the WLTP standard, travels up to 542 kilometres. In addition to the basic equipment, there is the Plus package (including panoramic glass roof, Harman Kardon sound system, heat pump) and the Pilot package (including pixel LED headlights, 360-degree camera, adaptive driving assistants). The Performance package with adjustable Öhlins dampers, Brembo brakes and special 20-inch alloy wheels is also available for the Dual engine.
The Long Range Single Motor variant is available in Austria from €47,900, while the Dual Motor costs €3,000 extra - so €50,900. However, Polestar has already deducted the manufacturer's share of the e-mobility bonus of €2,400 here, so the gross vehicle price in Austria is €50,300 and €53,300 respectively. In Germany, the Long Range Single Motor is listed from €44,930, but the manufacturer's share of the environmental bonus of €3,570 has already been deducted from this price, so the actual base price is €48,500.
