Ford has announced a special Ford Auto-Versicherung insurance offer for the Mustang Mach-E in Germany: buyers of this e-car will receive comprehensive insurance cover with an extra 25 percent discount on their individual motor vehicle liability and comprehensive insurance premiums.
This offer is available from 1 April 2021 and is valid for the entire period of insurance. Both private and commercial customers can take out the insurance at the time of their binding vehicle order, but major customers with Ford framework agreements and commercial special buyers such as taxis, driving schools, public authorities are excluded.
Ford does not provide any information on the costs for the E-Tariff in the press release, as the motor vehicle liability and comprehensive premiums are individual. The E-Tariff is available as partial and comprehensive cover. In the partial cover, consequential damage to the battery after an animal bite or short circuit up to 20,000 euros, overvoltage damage to electrical vehicle components due to lightning up to 20,000 euros or theft of the charging cable during the charging process or when stored under lock and key, or overvoltage damage to the charging cable are listed as electric car-specific covers.
The theft of one's own permanently installed charging box is then also insured up to 1,500 euros. The interesting thing here is that both a wallbox and an induction plate are mentioned. However, Ford has not yet announced an inductive charging option - neither for the Mustang Mach-E in particular, nor that such a charging system will be developed at all.
In addition to the above-mentioned scope of partial cover, the fully comprehensive policy also covers vandalism damage to the wallbox or induction plate up to 1,500 euros. In addition, the fully comprehensive policy includes "all risks cover".ford.com
