Ford messes with its own U.S. dealers - over the F-150 Lightning

High demand for the all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning has apparently led to some dealers in the U.S. charging customers thousands of dollars more than the list price for early delivery dates, with isolated reports of a premium of up to $30,000. Ford is now threatening that dealers with such sales practices could be left completely empty-handed when it comes to F-150 Lightning deliveries this year.

Ford had reportedly recently raised its production target to 150,000 units annually after receiving around 200,000 pre-orders for the electric pickup truck.Reservation holders will now be invited in phases to gradually convert their reservation into a firm order.
