Federal government increases wallbox subsidy to 300 million euros

The Federal Ministry of Transport has increased the funding volume for private wallboxes from 200 million euros to 300 million euros, but even with the additional budget, more than two thirds of the volume has already been used up.

The increase was necessary: with a subsidy of 900 euros per wallbox, 222,222 charging points could have been supported. As of 31 January, the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau had already received 192,281 applications for a total of 237,507 charging points. According to KfW, this corresponds to a commitment volume of almost 214 million euros.

Since the originally estimated budget has already been used up within a few months, not even the full amount of the top-up is now available for the "Grant 440" at KfW. In view of the high demand, interested parties should submit the application as soon as possible.

The important thing is that the application must be submitted before the wallbox is purchased and the wallbox must be on the list of eligible models that can be found on the KfW website.
