Elexon and SAP cooperate for automatic charge invoicing

Elexon and the software group SAP have created an e-mobility software module for charging processes specifically for companies and fleet operators. The Aachen-based charging infrastructure specialist promises "a Plug&Charge experience in the corporate environment".

According to Elexon, the new SAP E-Mobility solution automatically bills all charging processes via the SAP platform. All data generated via the charging station automatically flows into the company's corporate finance processes. "With this highly integrative billing system, we offer our customers a solution that ensures that both the charging processes at the employer and at home are billed in a tax-compliant manner in an integrated process," says Marcus Scholz, Managing Director of Elexon GmbH. No other provider is currently able to present this in this way.

In its accompanying press release, Elexon outlines a status quo in which "in many cases external payment providers or complex collective payments are standard". The new system is intended to clear the way from administratively complex billing to the high-volume scalable e-mobility backend. According to Elexon, the use of a billing system from SAP is not fundamentally necessary on the customer side, but it is advantageous. Standardized and open interfaces enable integration into existing system landscapes and processes.

Elexon charging station users can benefit from other cloud-based mobility solutions from SAP, such as vehicle and fleet management, which provide a comprehensive view of all e-mobility data, including vehicle charging and idle times, charging station usage, and costs incurred.

Elexon is a joint venture of SMA Solar Technology AG (SMA), AixControl GmbH and aixACCT charging solutions GmbH founded in 2019 with the aim of driving the expansion of charging infrastructure across Europe. The focus of the full-service provider is on charging infrastructure solutions, energy and load management, and the provision of electricity through renewable energies.
